Graphiti tries to model the passage of time by giving links a "valid_at" and "invalid_at" property. But I think a more accurate way to model the problem is to have the nodes themselves represent beliefs that are held at a point in time. It allows for "changing your mind" by just adding new nodes.

That's great! I've actually taken some inspiration from @cameron.pfiffer.org's Comind project too. Graph databases seem like a good approach, but I also like the idea of an immutable history of nodes with a well-defined taxonomy.

I think my read is less “artistic overstatement” and more “projection”. Like, if I am carrying a pocket knife, and you assume that I’m preparing myself for a surprise knife fight or whatever, you’re the weirdo, not me.

If you're a tech person, or trying to become a tech person, what has stopped you from getting your app onto the Internet? It can be internal or external barriers. I'm interested in what stops people from shipping.

Yeah, that tracks. AI is a power tool. And, while you should not pick up a power tool by the fucking blade, there is no babysitter that's going to stop you.

If this sort of thing concerns you and you want to be prepared, you should become at least informally acquainted with the concepts studied in information theory - information and entropy.

And have the humility to admit that even you are vulnerable to conspiracy cults, and be ever-vigilant.

Yeah exactly, I really meant "web services" specifically. Just knowing how code works won't help. You have to know how apps are made the right way if you want any hope of telling if the creators are phoning it in.

Many times the only tell is that it's a dumb app idea in the first place.
