Elon Musk’s Grok Is Doxxing Home Addresses of Everyday People
Grok is a stalker's best friend.

NEW: Elon Musk's Grok chatbot will, with minimal prompting, provide residential addresses of everyday Americans.
Prompts as simple as "[name] address" immediately returned accurate home addresses of private citizens — alongside other personal info we didn't ask for.

NEW YORK-According to news reports, the Trump administration this week announced that applicants for H-1B visas for highly skilled workers would be subject to increased vetting, with an eye toward rejecting those involved in what it considers "censorship." A recent State Department cable reportedly requires U.S. consular officers to review applicants' resumes or LinkedIn profiles to determine if they have worked in areas related to misinformation, disinformation, content moderation, fact-checking, or trust and safety online.
The following can be attributed to Carrie DeCell, senior staff attorney and legislative advisor at the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University:
"People who study misinformation and work on content-moderation teams aren't engaged in 'censorship' — they're engaged in activities that the First Amendment was designed to protect. This policy is incoherent and unconstitutional."

Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy said that recruiting women had been key to his success in gaining seats through two cycles.
"My formula for success was simple: recruit and add more women, minorities and veterans to the House Republican conference, so that our conference would look more like America," he said.
So would you say, Mr McCarthy, you were trying to make the GOP conference more diverse, by stressing equal representation and inclusion?

The cable, sent to all U.S. missions on December 2, orders U.S. consular officers to review resumes or LinkedIn profiles of H-1B applicants - and family members who would be traveling with them - to see if they have worked in areas that include activities such as misinformation, disinformation, content moderation, fact-checking, compliance and online safety, among others.
Holy shit.
Reuters reporting that new admin instructions on visas are if you worked at a platform in trust & safety or content moderation or on fact checking or online safety at an platform you *and your loved ones* are ineligible for H-1B visa.

Exclusive: Trump administration orders enhanced vetting for applicants of H-1B visa
An internal State Department memo said that anyone involved in "censorship" of free speech should be considered for rejection.
For the last decade, the pervasive spread of bullshit & manipulation of online platforms have been widely recognized societal concerns. Now non US citizens studying those subjects can be labeled “censors” & denied visas or deported from the US. Censorship, indeed. www.reuters.com/world/us/tru...

The dregs of the Signal messaging thread.
It starts noting "Jeff Goldberg left the group."
The JD Vance says, "This chat's kind of dead. Anything going on?"
Then one after another person changes their profile name: Scott Messent, Marco Rubio, John Ratcliffe, and Stephen Miller.
Whiskey Pete tried to attack the reliability of @jeffreygoldberg.bsky.social by noting that there was one EXTRA text in what Whiskey Pete turned over, on top of what Goldberg published.
This was that text.

No appliance (no, not even a tv) needs to have an internet connection. Especially one you don't have control over.

Raskin wrote in his letter, “President Trump increasingly appears to be exercising direct control over CBS’s editorial decisions, destroying CBS’s ‘journalistic integrity’ while violating its right to be free from governmental coercion and manipulation.” deadline.com/2025/12/trum...

This is what I thought too.
If the first boat is a legit target, and you're picking up evidence of comms with a second that's close enough to rescue them, then the second would be a legit target too.
Of course, neither are legit targets.

8/ A public service reminder:
This entire exercise is an absurd, imaginary world for legal experts.
That's because the truth is:
It's not an armed conflict.
The laws of war thus don't apply.
The more restrictive rules of human rights apply.
It's extrajudicial killing under that law.
