About time we ended political interference in the BBC.

Was at Herne Hill velodrome this morning. Coach had to sweep the leaves off the track so we didn't slip off. 😱

Spotted this interesting [Sergent?] cherry street tree in #Lambeth

I like the way that heavy pruning has left what looks like a sleeve of old bark surrounding a younger tree.

Had a nice club swim session at Clapham Manor this morning. Have only just noticed that where we park bikes is called Bicycle Mews.

Reckon I could think of a few apt names for other streets in London. Litter Lane would be the most common.

Was in B&Q today. The lady in front of me spent a lot and got a £5 voucher. She gave it to me. A random act of kindness.

Was there ever a café on that space? If you look carefully you can still see evidence of the old public toilet.

This is the Oval Triangle opposite the Oval station #Lambeth It's supposed to be cleaned once per week. Somehow I don't think so.

Spent about an hour removing most of the litter. Highlight was a bottle of Bollinger. Alas it was empty.

Asked a simple question, the area of Burrator reservoir. Google AI starts off by confusing 1 sq km (1,000,000 sq m) as being equivalent to 1 hectare (10,000 sq m). Goes on to give a more sensible answer 0.564 sq km.

Where would be if it weren't for mobile phones.

First time I've seen one of these. It's a hummingbird hawk moth. Very distinctive form of flight.

Have only just got into butterfly spotting. Here's a collection of what I've taken so far.

Spot the odd ones out.

Went on a butterfly walk today - my first ever. You see a lot more butterflies in a group especially if there are a few experts present. This walk was in a nature reserve over Saltash/Cornwall way.

Post run swim...with my clothes on of course. Well why not on a hot day like this.

This is a rock samphire (sea fennel) with some golden shield lichen - and my shoe for scale.

P.S. Now don't go thinking I know all this off the top of my head but I do know how to look things up.

It doesn't happen often but this European comma butterfly kindly posed for me.

I remember seeing my boss in there. We had both sneaked out for lunch 😀

Went to the Community Camp for Palestine by the U.S. Embassy yesterday. Saw a hula hoop. Couldn't resist.

Better check it has a door as well in case they expect you to abseil in through windows 😉
