It’s easy *enough* to get it good *enough.*

There are sculptors at my studio who can make clay incredibly lifelike. I’m not one of them. If I can convey the idea of the thing, I’m happy.

Step 1: slab out some clay.

Step 2: cut into general shape of a mit (or foot).

Step 3: cut in fingers (or toes).

Step 4: add knuckles, nails, and other details.

Nice! Vampire gnome is fun.

Ah, thank you! I am very happy with how it turned out. It can be tricky to walk that line where something is heavily stylized, but still representative and recognizable.

And that it’s also cute and in one piece! Those sacrifices I’ve been making to the kiln god must be working.

Dog mug! A representation of my sister’s dog, Sunny, I made her for Christmas. I like to think I really captured how empty Sunny’s head is.
