As a German political scientist who used to live in the US I cannot say how deeply disturbing it is to see these masked ICE goons dragging people off the streets, and the GOP building up this massive secret police force. What a shameful moment in history this is.

Let that sink in, an entire university is treating immigration enforcement like a public health crisis.

This is an incredible abuse of civil rights. Inconsistent with a free society.

I’m getting so sick and tired of destructive and ideological attacks on higher education by ill informed narcissists. Of course there are things that could be much better about universities and scientific enquiry more generally, but all the solutions are ludicrously facile and partisan.

Prof Popova is right. Russia demands the end of Ukrainian sovereignty. That should be stated clearly.

This is a very incomplete rendering of Ru’s demands and it helps Ru propaganda. Ru demands way more than control over Ukraine’s foreign policy. It demands diktat over Ukr’s domestic laws, regime change, and demilitarization, i.e defenceless Ukr. If it were abt NATO, Trump de facto conceded it.
