This concerns me greatly, actually. I've treaded in male leaning spaces for a very long time that haven't been exactly welcoming to women. Battletech, Cyberpunk, and Shadowrun have long been favorites. Hell I won the 2022 GenCon SR tournament with a great group.

I mean even in the past I recall doing con games, one shots, and screening games as character references before being invited to their home campaigns.

You prefilter people for an IRL table because they're usually friends of friends, or they're geographical to your area and are likely to share the same values. In short your social space is safe from the intolerant and the crazies. Online, well you roll your dice and take your chances.

What is worrisome to me is I see a rise of intolerance even in my role-playing game hobby space. I guess it's because it's not the niche little nerdy hobby I grew up and loved. It's actually hard to get a random group of people online to gel well together.

So, I murdered a Cyberpunk RPG game just by describing my catgirl character in session 0. That is the power I possess to shut down the male power fantasy. Who needs bullets? 😂 Seriously though, exotics have been around since CP2020's Chromebook 2 in 1992. #Rpg #cyberpunk #Meow
