22.02.2026 22:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Seems to me that a noir city of any kind is what remains after you take out the nice stuff (honour, hope, generosity). So the name shouldn't be "nice" either. Something like 'Durst' or 'Cratt' makes more sense to me, though maybe the contrast between a beautiful name and an ugly city works.
18.02.2026 16:54 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I'm voting for "I Lost on Jeopardy". Mainly because I grew up watching Art Fleming and listening to Don Pardo.
18.02.2026 02:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Money or indifference, take your pick. Maybe it was the same impulse to insult that made Anne of Green Gables a blonde on the cover of one notorious ebook.

08.02.2026 01:25 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Happy upcoming birthday! Be of good cheer. Iβm 70 next month and my existence continues, in spite of shocks.

13.01.2026 04:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0There was an episode of Night Gallery called "The Doll" which was creepy enough. The final scene was oddly both terrifying and gratifying β a nice combination to pull off.

07.01.2026 01:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As a practical matter, can you really explain this without the hand gestures?
29.12.2025 19:14 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Went to the Ghibli museum in October and saw all the character and background studies on the walls. Just amazing to see the evolution of ideas.

The Merry Frolics of Satan (1906) by Georges Méliès.
Not so merry for the horse or the doomed soul, but you've got to love the Vesuvius take-off.
The movie βHugoβ gives you a sense of the man and his work.
08.12.2025 16:01 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0That movie pays back more than the price of admission in the first five minutes (train scene).

22.11.2025 21:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If this is the cat that died and came back, and is now howling at nothing visible, you are one step away from a Stephen King novel.
