They do get repetitive. But it’s a neat trick to write that many books and never, ever reveal more than the smallest shreds of backstory.

Re-reading 'The Hunter' for the first time in years and I'm struck by how emotional and borderline out-of-control Parker is... it's a real shift from the subsequent books in the series, when he's more like the T-800 with a taste for robbery.
