Most of the crude oil that the United States imports from Canada is heavy oil from the oil sands. This heavy oil is thick and doesn't flow easily, unlike lighter oils. The U.S. refines this heavy crude into various products like gasoline, diesel, and other petrochemicals. $6 per gallon coming soon.
