You mentioned in Locked Out, that unemployment is a lagging statistic. Does this mean that National could be justified in blaming Labour?

All the talk of income adjusted fines was great. That's just another way that the current government has screwed over low income earners. On 1st Oct 2024, the court fee changed from $30 to $55. Who pays court fees? Poor people who can't afford to pay their fine to Police/local govt in the 1st place.

Just found out that Libelle is the company that runs the tuck shop so kids won't be able to buy food after Friday. They can't even pay money to get decent food at school now (not that they should have to). Such a mess!

Surely, even for heartless monsters who are happy to argue against feeding hungry children, would think that the only thing worse than feeding a hungry child is feeding a rubbish bin. Would love to know how much of "my taxpayer dollars" are thrown in the bin.

I think there should be more focus on the waste under the new system. Us lefties are always going to be outraged by children being fed burnt plastic and cold pies but the people on the right will always counter with "well, it's the parents' responsibility anyway".

So less than 24 hours after Nicola Willis “delivered” her plan for new ferries with no costs & no ship builder Winston Peters has cancelled all that and says we’re back at “day 1”. When Christopher Luxon works out who is in charge in his govt can he let the rest of us know?

No Plan, No Idea, No Ferries. Today’s announcement by the Minister of Finance means we don't know:
- where replacement ferries are coming from
- how much they will cost
- who will pay for them
- how the port infrastructure will be delivered,
- the fiscal or economic impact
