Our new book is available for pre-order! The praxis-oriented case studies raise a diverse set of concerns and possible solutions, and I especially look forward to conversations about Larry's and my critical theoretical-historical introduction. Consider:

What can you offer as resistance?

Be creative!

Then offer it.

This is a great example.

'Why aren't they in the streets' is answered almost every day in my small town by people in the streets! Rather than asking 'why aren't they in the streets' it's worth asking 'why isn't your media showing them in the streets' and 'who is served by downplaying resistane in its myriad forms.'

I think this post nails the actual problem, for researchers at leastβ€”AI hallucinations would simply not be a problem in academic work if we’d not normalized citation-as-signaling rather than actual engagementβ€”you can only cite a fake paper if you’re not in the habit of reading the papers you cite

"Education should remain the space where we confront the architectures of our tools: the labor they obscure, the inequities they reproduce, the futures they foreclose. Instead, it risks becoming the laboratory of the very systems it should critique," writes Bruna Damiana Heinsfeld.

Last summer, a team from @historians.org issued a report on the teaching of history in U.S. K-12 schools.

We asked them to write an essay-length version of that report for History of Education Quarterly.

And then we invited four leading scholars to comment. In this thread, I'll post links to all.
