It's finally happened @ghostsintheburbs.bsky.social I can not only re-listen to episode 14: "kids are the f*king worst" (the only episode of yours that freaked me out too much for a re-listen) I now find it calming in these current times. Which says EVERYTHING about how I'm doing.

A screenshot of Maggie Smith's "Good Bones"
Life is short, though I keep this from my children.
Life is short, and I’ve shortened mine
in a thousand delicious, ill-advised ways,
a thousand deliciously ill-advised ways
I’ll keep from my children. The world is at least
fifty percent terrible, and that’s a conservative
estimate, though I keep this from my children.
For every bird there is a stone thrown at a bird.
For every loved child, a child broken, bagged,
sunk in a lake. Life is short and the world
is at least half terrible, and for every kind
stranger, there is one who would break you,
though I keep this from my children. I am trying
to sell them the world. Any decent realtor,
walking you through a real shithole, chirps on
about good bones: This place could be beautiful,
right? You could make this place beautiful.

User "Annie Wu" says "this tweet is my Roman Empire," along with a screenshot of tweet from @PerthshireMags that reads, "climate change will manifest as a series of disasters as viewed through phones with footage that gets closer and closer to where you live until you're the one filming it."

WeΒ don’tΒ have to choose this fate. But I fear we will.

A poem by Langston Hughes titled "Tired". It reads as the following:

"I am so tired of waiting,
Aren't you,
For the world to become good
And beautiful and kind?
Let us take a knife
And cut the world in two --
And see what worms are eating
At the rind."

I've been thinking about this poem by Langston Hughes recently and although it was published in 1931, it remains relevant as ever.

Phoebe is the sweetest ginger girlie. Also, she's just a tiny bit crazy, but I think that's a given, based on her coat color. πŸ˜‚
