Duke energy plans to hike electric bills by $35 per month between now and 2030 to build out power generation capacity for more data centers to whom the offer discounts. Duke made almost 5B in profit last year, but they say half of all power demand increase comes from data centers.

Duke Energy is raising our rates to supply data centers who buy from them at a discount. All this to power AI and crypto. We need a representative who’s not going to take money from the tech industry if we are ever going to fix the cost of living crisis.
