(at least in my experience so far!) other people might have better insights on that :)

would definitely go for the higher end of 5$. You can always run temporary discounts if needed. But if its a good qualitative product, in that low margin between 3-5$ the obstacle for people to buy is rarely the number, but the difference between free + paid.
