Absolutely! I think you'll have a lot of fun with it - and especially if you're aware of the history of the time period it's doing an alternate version of, I think you and your players can have a good conversation up front to make sure everyone stays happy and gets what they want out of it.

Basically, I'm of the opinion that either a game like this needs to go full vibes and abandon real world history entirely, or you need to be willing to have very thoughtful conversations about the real world horrors that happened in that time period & how much of that you want in your game.

I definitely do think there's a lot of fun to be had with it (for example, if you haven't watched Mystery Quest play through it, you should). I'd need to go back & read again for specifics, but I recall going through it & feeling like the closer to real history it was, the more disappointed I was.

When I was a kid, I KNEW when I was an adult and had a house I would want to have themed rooms - unfortunately as an adult I realize that 1. that costs money and 2. that puts me one step closer to being like T*mmy T*ll*r*c* and frankly I just can't let myself become that person.

Now I get to spend the next 5 billion years shucking pistachios for a salmon recipe I found so I can get all this daggone fish out the freezer.

I had no idea Japanese potato salad existed before today, but I've slapped some together from a recipe I found online and I've gotta say, that shit rips. Between that and the esquites I made, I'm rediscovering the joy of side dishes. ADHD has robbed me of anything but one pot meals for a while now.

I'm not a big drinker except at cons really so it's not TERRIBLE that I'm not buying cans of stuff that will demolish you, I just feel disappointed. Maybe I'll add a shot of vodka to each can or something, lol.

On the one hand, I'm happy that Suntory decided to make -196 in the US. On the other hand, it's 3.5%ABV weaker than strong zero and costs like 4x per can. :/ Then again, if the US let you get alcohol that strong for a dollar I... actually no, honestly there probably wouldn't be a change in anything.

There are often questions that ask if there are people you DON'T want to game with, which is great and good and safe, but if you've got good table chem already? That can jumpstart a game right from the jump. It shouldn't be a sole criterion for casting someone, but it's good info to have at the end.

If I get to the point where I start recruiting for actual AP things (and there's two of you out there in TV land I need to follow up with on that anyway, oops 😅), and thing I'm going to do & recommend you do as well is include a spot on the questionnaire for "Do you have people you play well with?"

Am I about to become the kind of person who has a treadmill in their bedroom? I might have to be! I'd put it in the garage but I don't want all the spiders and wasps to get buff. (Also, yknow, lack of convenient power outlets.)
