A key asymmetry of this era of American politics and how it’s covered is that Trump is expected to do bad and corrupt things, so when he does it barely qualifies as news. But Dems are expected to be beyond reproach, so anything that seems even slightly suspect is a huge scandal.

Getting close to blocking anyone in my mentions arguing that the Biden pardon of his son is a big deal. It's just not.

There seems to be a vast under-appreciation for the lines we’ve crossed and the world we’re in.

Trump’s win has basically put us in a post-rules world.

People in power don’t feel constrained by rules and any remaining checks don’t feel empowered to be checks.

This reality has not set in yet.

When I was a lawyer in the White House, I can’t stress enough how much we all cared about following the rules - the black letter law and the informal limits of tradition, morality and shame.

You really can’t fathom yet what it will mean for the most powerful actors to care about none of that.

I shudder to think what he would do to rape prevention programs in the Military.

This sort of democratic backsliding, where Republicans seek to overturn the effect of an election by reallocating powers away from positions they have lost, has become almost routine now. But it should remain shocking.

So your solution is that everyone sits in pain for hours in end? I don’t think so. A little recline to easy seated pain is okay as long as it is done with care.

Just insane that the left treated the tech industry with increasing hostility just because they undermined organized labor, flouted the regulatory state, and bragged that they were going to get rid of everybody's jobs for a decade straight.
