Utterly insane that the fate of millions, even billions of living people is forever handcuffed to the whims of a handful of belligerent idiots with a God complex playing Jenga with humanity for personal gain during the blink of an eye that they're on this planet. The sheer pointlessness of it all.

@clairewillett

honestly the best marketing scheme in history is men successfully getting away with calling women the "more emotional" gender for like, EONS, because they've successfully rebranded anger as Not An Emotion

Lots of people who haven't had word one to say about constant public displays of proscribed flags used to intimidate whole communities, even primary schools, for years on end are suddenly going to be frothing about one flag at a gig.

That being said, a massive thank you to anyone able to support artists by buying their work or hiring them - ye are literally keeping us going. The benefit of working as small artists is that we get to see and appreciate everyone who buys a print or supports the work. It's a lovely little community.

This is disturbing… a single ChatGPT query uses 10x more energy than using a search engine. One 100-word email drafted by ChatGPT-4 uses about a water bottle’s worth of H2O, and enough electricity to power 14 LED lightbulbs for an hour.

sort of maybe want to write about it at some point but also ohhhhh my god as a woman and a feminist I actually just really don't want to be so defined by my gender, it's so BORING and reductive, there's so much more to being alive than your gender identity, who cares, WHO CARES

Sex Redefined: The Idea of 2 Sexes Is Overly Simplistic Biologists now think there is a larger spectrum than just binary female and male

My husband has taught human reproduction and development to the Cambridge medics for over three decades. When people start banging on about "only two biological sexes" he starts with "which sex: genetic, hormonal, or gonadal"?

Biological sex is not binary. www.scientificamerican.com/article/sex-...

I honestly think that people who want to get these should have to go through another driving test, they should be another separate category on the licence. The amount of these on the road with people unable to drive them is scary. I'm not a great driver by any stretch, but I stick to a Yaris.

A tale of two Taytos: How an anthropomorphic crisp became a symbol for Irish identity How a half-man half-crisp in a suit became a symbol of the Irish diaspora—and an important part of the Brexit deliberations

In advance of #stpatricksday, here's a thread of essential articles about Irish stuff which you can present to international friends who wish to understand us better.

First up: a tale of two Taytos, by Róisín Lanigan.

A light green painted bedroom with white wardrobes in the background with a curtain covered window to the right. The book Somewhere Beyond the Sea by TJ Klune is open and resting on knees covered in a flowery duvet with a cup of coffee held in front of it.

Top tier bank holiday Sunday. Duvet day with a book that's only interrupted by runs to the kitchen for coffee, with a crackling fire on the TV. #booksky #spéirghorm #irishbluesky

I'm in a similar situation, grew up mostly with Lyons in the house, but I took a bit against tea after my Granny's 3 day wake near 8 years ago. Mostly drink coffee or sparkling water these days.

I'm going to be controversial and say that there's not much difference in the taste of the two, rather like FF/FG. They're both much better than muck like Tetleys and PG Tips (learnt that the hard way from the mother shopping up North).

Monaghan County Museum has the best and simplest summation of the Civil War and Partition of Ireland. Just cuts to the heart of the matter. Though what teabag do you reckon is Pro/Anti-Treaty? I reckon Barry's is Anti-Treaty. #irishhistory #speirgorm #spéirghorm #irishbluesky

It took me a while too to make sense of the names and places, I also keep flicking back to the maps at the beginning, but sure that's part of the fun of reading high fantasy! I'm 60ish percent in and I'm enthralled, resent every time I have to put it down!
