Like there’s a scene where, because he’s shocked at how others treat Navya, he angrily asks why she doesn’t defend herself/do you have a backbone. And like, I thought he’d apologize to her like a week later? But no, he apologizes the next day and I’m like ??? Shouldn’t this be harder for you?

— and how I’ve set up their initial relationship, Barsaat will apologize to her. He won’t with anyone else. But he does apologize to Navya and I think that’s so interesting in a romance novel? To have the male love interest (who is grumpy/serious) just do that when it’s not common in this genre

It’s been interesting writing my book because Barsaat is a character that apologizes. Which is surprising for me? Because I always intended for him to learn how to apologize and that’s a big growth development/character development for him. But because of how he views Navya —
