Admittedly the likeness isn't exact but art is imagination! Also the big one does actually look like my Mr. Whiskers, a big old stray black and white who adopted me in the city in my 20s and we very happily lived together for a few years, before a car ran him over. I'm still looking for the driver 🗡️

I love cats and dogs. However I no longer have any cats because I have dogs and I have found there can be fights when you have both, and I don't want any animal distressed. I have had a total of 4 cats in my lifetime though, and I imagine these are my 4 cats when I look at this painting 💚

Also OT, but Bohs fans - Would a super antique photo of the official 1914 Bohs team, large and in excellent condition, be worth a few quid? I bought one in a charity shop and was thinking to try to auction it for Gaza if it might be desirable and unusual enough to raise a little money.

I continue to be massively grateful to all the sex workers continuing to offer constructive feedback on the new Ugly Mugs software. With this level of user engagement I feel excited about how good this software could be made! ☺️

Ugly Mugs is currently receiving quite a few emails written in the Irish language. At a glance (my Irish is shamefully poor) I wondered with excitement, is there are revival of the Irish language among sex workers? Alas no! It is just a bunch of international spammers adopting Google Translate.

Using it as an excuse not to do anything certainly resonates with me though, as never has any anti sex worker person ever offered to do anything to help Ugly Mugs, despite many claiming they care about sex workers.

Yes it is both those things, but it is more too I feel. Promoting ideas like that sex workers cannot consent and that clients can do ANYTHING they want to sex workers etc, this sends a really damaging and dangerous message to society.

However much you test new software, once thousands of sex workers are using it, bugs or usability issues will be identified. Thanks to all our members who are working with us so patiently currently to get the new Ugly Mugs software fully bug-free and easy to use 💚 I couldn't do it without you all 💚

I abhor radical feminist types who say "sex work can never be safe." This is such a huge lie and utter malicious nonsense. How would they feel I wonder, if we said "Radical feminists must learn to accept violence if they do not leave radical feminism." We don't, because we are better than that.

Sex workers who experience crime are competent adults who can make their own decisions about what if any contact they'd like with police. There isn't one right way to try to heal from the trauma of crime.

Consent is key. Sex workers should never be forced to engage with police. Due to the long history of police abuses of sex workers, most sex workers don't want police anywhere near them. But there are also sex workers who'd like to have the option of access to a friendly Sex Work Liaison Officer.

BTW Two things can be true. Yes, sadly most sex workers have very bad experiences of police, and we absolutely desperately need less policing of sex work to reduce the rampant police abuses of sex workers. But also some sex workers would like to engage with police and there is room for that too.

Not that Sex Work Liaison Officers (SWLO) are unheard of, but I do feel like safety of sex workers is generally a super low priority for police. We are still living in times where it is often accepted that almost all workers deserve safety, but not sex workers.

Of course no dog will ever come remotely close to replacing my soul dog (RIP). But I'm taking the "life must go on" attitude following his death and the gun dog needed a home. He howls a lot. You could say for no good reason. Or maybe its a rational reaction to the current state of the world? 🤷‍♀️

Apart from he being just fine with fireworks, I'm afraid the gun dog has major anxiety issues, worse dog anxiety case I've ever known, before I took him he was at risk of being put down they were considered so severe. But I have major anxiety issues myself so I welcome him to my club 🤗

OT but who doesn't want to hear about my dogs? I now have a rescue dog that used to be a gun dog. He is still quite young, he failed pro gun training (Good on him I say!). Now it is firework season & every time he hears a firework he runs up to me and sits to attention as if reporting for duty 🐶

Thank you. Luckily I'm good at managing really heavy workloads, so long as the type of work is ok for me, and this type is good work. Other types of work that are very psychologically draining for me, I do have to be very careful.

For me, when you are working crazy long hours non-stop and you feel like you are still failing, that I can struggle with. But happily that's not the situation right now. I'm happy because I feel like my hard work is doing some good currently 😊

Yes I've been working so hard on the Ugly Mugs software upgrade for so long I may have gone half mad with sleep deprivation etc! But its a good madness. I feel like I'm getting somewhere and achieving positive outcomes. I do not mind working crazy long hours at all when I feel I'm doing good.

Sex workers in Ireland have always had a strong commitment to community support and helping each other. In the "old days" this didn't include helping by marking email as not spam. But in these modern times, it does, that's a way to help the community!
