Anyone who belongs to any minority group needs to be aware that what is being done to trans people can and will be done to them. In a decade we have been stripped of our rights to exist in public spaces by a press campaign and a well funded lobby.

Honestly, whoever answered that email does 50 of them a day and won't even have looked to see what the policy is. It getting into the papers will have attracted attention lol.

I think getting M&S to issue some kind of statement of support for trans colleagues is a reasonable and achievable goal for a phone in campaign based on that tbh.

That will almost certainly be the assistant giving the complainants email to the store manager and trying to arrange a visit the trans colleague does not have to deal with. It needs to be stressed how wildly inappropriate this is.

Ok so this "The following day, an M&S customer service assistant replied, apologising for the incident." means it came from RCS and by the looks was a response to an email to the complaints address.

Certainly it's a small call centre and blowing up the phones would be noticed.
