Watching Portrait Artist of the Year on YT has inspired me to dust off the watercolors and do some plein air! Here’s a painting of the vibiest spots around Boston, Lovestruck books!

The Fish King #1.11 - King Arthur finally accepts what he has to do

I’ve been completely delinquent in working on my webcomic unfortunately. But I’ve started again! Here’s the Fish King #1.10! I’ll try harder to draw and post more regulary, I swear!

Here's the finished concept for my Icarus linocut. Definitely a bit ambitious considering I'm very green at printmaking but if you're not trying to push yourself then what's the point?

Been super delinquent in making comics or posting anything, but here’s a fun little WIP that I started yesterday. It’s based on Icarus from Greek mythology.

Idk might be a fun linocut challenge?

Narrator: Meanwhile back at the ranch… Panel 1: Yvain and Gawain greet each other with a hug. Yvain says, “Sorry I’m late, Cousin.” and Gawain replies “Nonsense! You’re right on time, Cousin.”

Panel 2: Yvain starts explaining, “I was fighting some giants and then Lunette got loose and butted in and it was a whole —“ Before he can finish speaking, Gawain covers his mouth and shushes him saying “You’re missing it.” He’s look out at the field where Arthur is battling the dragon. Panel 3: Yvain asks “Why? What’s happening?” The dragon meanwhile is looking around confusedly for Arthur while he hides behind a tree. Gawain responds, “He’s hiding!”

Panel 4: Stars sparkle around them as Yvain and Gawain both idiotically gush over their beloved King. Yvain: “Oooh yeah. I get it. He’s annoying the dragon to death!” Gawain: “And THAT’s why he’s the King and not the other way around.” Yvain: “Wow. You’re so right.”

The cavewoman leaps dramatically and stabs the turkey in the face, killing it. She wipes her brow after a hard days work.

The cavewoman imagines various scenarios involving her husband sleeping while she cooks, eating most of the food, and then leaving her to do all the cooking. She gets angrier and angrier as she imagines these scenarios.

To spite her lazy husband, the cave woman throws the giant turkey off of a cliff. A mushroom cloud blooms behind her as she huffs and leaves empty handed.

Another addition to the Welsh mythology collection, Cath Palug. Born to a pig, the Cath Palug stalked the Isle of Anglesey until it was killed by Cai of Arthurian Legends.

Haha I didn’t even really come up with it. It’s Arthurian canon so you can thank the old masters for that one!

Definitely my protagonist, King Arthur. I was just thinking the other day that he’s a bit too much like me and that I might be using comics as free therapy 🙃

Wonderful! I’m constantly amazed by artists who are good at brush work. I just can’t get the hang of it myself! I always struggle with the flexibility in the bristles

Just like how I love looking at before/after pictures of my art, there really is something magical about looking at before/after pictures of bread too!

Here’s some cheddar jalapeno sourdough for your Sunday morning.

Panel 1: King Arthur desperately hugging his friend Yvain begging for him to save him from the dragon. Yvain responds “Aw, there there.” Panel 2: Yvain reassures Arthur and says “So sorry I’m late, but don’t worry Arthur. I’m here now.” Arthur responds “Oh thank God!”

Panel 3: Yvain rolls up his sleeves and prepares to face the dragon. He says “Just wait right there and I’ll sort this whole thing out. Panel 4: The lion Lunette is biting the dragon’s tail and wagging its own tail happily. Yvain admonishes Lunette by saying “Lunette! Let go of that dragon right this second!” Panel 5: The lion lifts up Lunette by its tail while Lunette continues to happily wag its tail. Yvain address the dragon directly and says, “And you, dragon….”

Panel 6: Yvain grabs King Arthur and points at him while angrily addressing the dragon, “Did you forget who your opponent was? This here is King Arthur and he’s going through a lot right now so you’d better give him a good fight. Got it?” Arthur is chagrinned and tries to stop Yvain from pointing at him while thinking to himself “Et tu, Yvain?”
