Every time a queer/trans person (or someone who they can label as such) commits an act of violence, it is used to demonize the entire community. And yet, despite the fact that cis white men carry out the majority of violent acts, this same demonization doesn't seem to occur. Convenient. 🤔

FWIW, "yours for the restoration of the Republic" was a common salutation American fascists gave to each other in the 1950s and 1960s. This is from a 1952 letter by Ohio white supremacist terrorist Peter Xavier. The rest of the rhetoric here might be familiar too.

My wife & I are museum goers, and so are our kids — for art, for history, for learning.

Never once have I walked into a history museum & questioned if what I was seeing was true. Are those days coming to an end?

Because nothing says “you should feel free to come visit Washington” like standing in front of dozens of armed soldiers next to a guy who thinks women shouldn’t be able to vote 🙃
