Country diary: The sight – and smell – of a habitat success story | Paul Evans
The Marches, Shropshire: The wonderful Stiperstones nature reserve now includes two sites from a community organisation, with a welcome focus on restoration, not just protection
“This is nature restoration based on the ‘Lawton principles’ of bigger, better, more & joined-up habitats… Here, we’re celebrating the inclusion of the Middle Marches Community Land Trust’s new sites”
Let’s have more communities owning land for nature:

Very good to be in the Northwest with the Natural England team to declare another National Nature Reserve - Risley, Holcroft & Chat Moss NNR. Home to the industrial revolution, the new NNR expands the green infrastructure needed for the ecological revolution that must get underway. t.co/6nXK9fcS5x

Natural England accused of favouring rewilding over saving farmland
Calls for body to be scrapped for being ‘ideologically wedded to concept of conservation and removing food production from the countryside’
The @Telegraph excels itself today with the claim that @NaturalEngland is ‘ideologically wedded to concept of conservation’. This is our job, & we do it as a matter of legal requirement. Would be odd for a conservation organisation to do anything else.

Execs will get a bonus. The company wants to pay higher dividends, record hike in customer prices.
Regulators do nothing. Govt can end the scam by nationalisation, but won't.
