The restaurant Radio is fantastic.

We did a couple of excellent food tours as well.

Today is a great day for stock-making. (I won't share pictures, because mine is at the "bubbling away nicely but super-ugly" stage of the operation.)

It’s a disk of cornbread, golden brown and fresh from the skillet. You can’t tell in a picture but it’s mighty crispy, too.

I know things Aren’t Great right now, but I made some pretty good looking cornbread for dinner tonight, and cornbread is great fuel for Doing What Is Needful.

Yup—chili tonight, stewed lentils tomorrow, further digging on Tuesday.

I wanted to make cornbread, so dinner the next few days is "what can I find in the freezer that goes with cornbread," thereby letting me play a similar game.

Also, cornbread is delicious.

I saved the comics page from my hometown paper with the very last C&H and got it framed. It has since hung in every office or cubicle I've worked in. Good reminder to touch grass (snow?) and not get too stuck at work.

I recommend long bike rides.

2025 has been, in general, pretty stupid and, in several specific ways, pretty awful. As we get ready to head into 2026, a little something that I sometimes turn to when the world is dumb.
