I'm having trouble identifying where in the interview (transcripts) with Blanche Maxwell told him that as far as she knew Trump has never been to Epstein's homes.

Can anyone help track that down?

I'm trying to track this down. Where in the transcripts of her interview with Blanche did Maxwell assert that Trump had never been to any of Epstein's homes?

I don't get it. I ask in earnest, what was the end game? Was there a realistic expectation that Republicans would cave and restore Medicaid funding and ACA credits at some point during a government shutdown?

By Senate Democrats, do you mean the 7 Democrats who are backing cloture on the CR bill?

Yep. That's exactly why I'm hoping SCOTUS doesn't overturn Trump's tariffs. Let them run its course so render so America can render a verdict on their impact.

We told you not to touch the stove and we still think you shouldn't. But if you insist, touch it.

Are you talking about 8 Democratic Senators if you count the one independent?

Lots of fake news accounts out there posting on social media with a "satire" disclaimer at the bottom of their articles or sometimes not thee but on their account pages that nobody sees or notices.

Funny, I spotted a quite similar one here in Cary, North Carolina.

What "it says" he did is one thing. What *he did* is entirely another. Not even remotely alike.

Q: "Is the president willing to rule out granting clemency for convicted child sex traffickers?"

Leavitt: "As I said, we do not comment on clemency requests."

Headline: "President won't rule out clemency for convicted child sex traffickers."

There. Done.

It's the end of the road for Maxwell. Her only hope is the presidential pardon she's been posturing for.

I hate to say it, but I thought Maxwell had at least a plausible argument that the immunity deal reached by federal prosecutors in Florida immunized her from federal prosecution in New York and I was afraid SCOTUS would take it up and rule in her favor.

It's not clear what he said that they were applauding to, but I am a bit relieved that their facial expressions changed when he said that line and didn't seem to be followed up by applause.

Question: Will a government shutdown prevent healthcare premiums from rising by 75% for 20 million Americans or prevent throwing 15 million people off of their healthcare?

Tapper should have said, "So what you're suggesting is that Trump used the FBI to help him formant an attack on the Capitol to overturn the election results" and moved on.

And RFK Jr, lest you believe that when he asked his newly appointed CDC Director if she is a trustworthy person, she answered no.

I don't see how it matters. It's hair splitting over something inconsequential.

26.09.2025 17:31 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah, and how does that change anything?

Q: Does 2+2=5?
A: No.

I get that he did not STATE that it's not true that "2+2=5" and it's more accurate to say that he DENIED that "2+2=5", but so what? What does that change?

26.09.2025 17:30 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I'm still asking why it matters because I don't see it. "How could that not matter" as if to suggest that it patently and clearly does when no one has so far articulated how it's of any consequence reverses the burden.

26.09.2025 17:26 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

A deception that accomplishes what? How is that materially different had the indictment read that Comey "denied" (rather than "stated") he "authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source" (dropping the "not" operator)? Imprecise, but changed nothing really.

26.09.2025 17:20 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I am a lawyer, and I don't see why the distinction matters here. It could have read that he "falsely denied" and dropped the "not" before the quoted question, but I don't see how that changes anything that matters. Looks to me to be a distinction without a difference.

26.09.2025 17:01 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I see the sleight of hand, but don't get the stretch here. Comey did ratify his May 2017 testimony that he did not "authorized someone else at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports". This quotes the question and not his answer (which was "No"), but is that really a problem of any import?

26.09.2025 15:11 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

By "specifically prohibited" (by DOJ policy) I assume you're referring to his public announcement explaining why he wasn't pursuing charges against Clinton and not his decision to his public letter to Congress updating them on his testimony?

26.09.2025 14:23 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Wrong concept. Jury nullification is what juries do when the evidence of guilt is overwhelming but they refuse to vote for convict.

A jury will unanimously acquit Comey because there is no evidence of guilt.

26.09.2025 02:24 β€” πŸ‘ 27    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

He doesn't think that, and neither the circumstances surrounding or his rationale for his decision suggests that he does.

26.09.2025 02:14 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

I disagree. I've read his book and have an appreciation for the difficult position he was in, and although it may not have been the right one, it was reasonable and certainly not a case of "open partisanship." Quite the opposite, actually.
