...oh. Wow. Huh. Those sure are something.
I'm impressed that the pics I found are solidly either Fallout or 'retrofutureism with just a hint of Empire' in their aesthetics.

"Want" is a strong word, but I suspect it will be outsourced to the same Indian tech companies that stop 'self-driving' Teslas from running over pedestrians. At least this lot is being honest about the human behind the robot.
29.10.2025 23:41 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well you see, in 5 years they'll have cracked that pesky autonomous AI problem and then we won't need the human operator any more. Think of all the money future you will save! /s
29.10.2025 23:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Halfway through The Starving Saints and I will definitely be joining the hordes of people yelling about how good it is if it manages to stick the landing.
(Please for the love of God check the content notes before you read, it's not kidding about the body horror/cannabilism. But, like, it's GOOD.)
Breaks and stretching are important, says I, a cat-less crafter currently dealing with a wicked case of self-inflicted RSI.
27.10.2025 03:54 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We straight up ditched closets entirely for the kids. All their clothes live in wash baskets on a garage shelf in their room. One for tops, one for bottoms, one for jumpers etc. If it doesn't all fit in there you either need to fold/rearrange them or get rid of enough so that it does all fit again.
27.10.2025 02:24 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Generally pads are a better bet over tampons, since more people can use them. If you can afford hypo-allergenic or more "earth friendly" (eg unbleached), that's a great thing to donate, as a surprising amount of people have reactions to "normal" pads. But it's def optional.
27.10.2025 01:10 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0That feels like the most reasonable response tbh.
27.10.2025 01:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well, if you take a saw to about halfway through the wood before you take the swing, like we used to do with the sacrificial chairs deployed during the grand melee when one of the (fully armoured!) knights had a bit planned, that *might* work. But otherwise that hockey stick ain't breaking.
27.10.2025 01:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0For us an electric kettle is part safety - automatic shut off when it's done or empty is a godsend when you have this much ADHD in the house. But we're Aussie so ours work faster than US ones too.
27.10.2025 00:58 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I suspect the context is tiny parasitic water snails (very common in watercress and related greens), but you never know, it might turn you into Swamp Thing.
25.10.2025 04:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0#science people, I would also like to know the answer to this. Any laser experts out there?
16.10.2025 10:07 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Clearly the answers here are all "yes".
16.10.2025 10:01 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Brave kitty!
16.10.2025 03:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's not the most accessible option, but I find swimming helps. I'm either watching my kid so they don't drown and having fun with them, or I'm so occupied with not drowning while doing laps that I can't think of anything else.
16.10.2025 03:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0This right here is probably at least 85% of why that useless age-verification social media law got passed. The other 15% being to protect Murdoch's empire.
15.10.2025 07:41 β π 5 π 7 π¬ 0 π 0It's a way for forensic scientists to study how human remains decompose under various conditions. This helps them get more accurate data for things like estimating time of death at crime scenes.
15.10.2025 07:28 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I am now "actively looking forward to seeing the physio" years old, and if it wasn't for how much better I know my arm will feel tomorrow, I would be annoyed by that.
Please treat this as your irregular reminder to stretch, change positions often, and avoid RSI by any means necessary.
That felt so out of left field I had to look it up and holy cow. Didn't know that, not sure what I'm going to do now I do, but sure feeling some things about the obvious brand recognition shenanigans going on there.
15.10.2025 00:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0YouTube doesn't even moderate its own "for kids" side of the platform. If THEY are saying this ban isn't going to work as intended, then it's way worse than you probably think.
13.10.2025 08:45 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Accurate. Coincidentally, I'm quite annoyed that Windows has finally reached my personal "this is intolerable garbage" threshold and I now have to find the Linux distro with the least amount of tweaking required to make Minecraft run with mods.
13.10.2025 05:30 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes. Workers in overseas garment factories are often paid as little as $2 for a 16-18 hour work day.
13.10.2025 04:32 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It depends on the job, but I know many people who have success using capsule wardrobe principles and go a bit heavier on the accessories to make 'new' outfits out of a limited number of base items. It's not a wholesale solution, but it's a start.
13.10.2025 00:58 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I understand where you're coming from, Sabine.
13.10.2025 00:43 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's finally back to school term which means we can finally go to the playground again without being overrun by school children out on leave, AND we're finally lurgy free, so October is finally looking like a month worth having.
If we contract more lurgy this year I'm moving into a bubble.
That seems to be the article's implication, yeah. I'm not a big bread eater though, I found out about this effect when I had to do an elimination diet and was cooking a lot of potatoes and dry beans.
12.10.2025 02:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Nope, just cook then chill in the fridge. The faster it chills the more starch gets converted, but you don't have to freeze it.
12.10.2025 02:07 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0No wonder Brum was always breaking out of the museum to go do things. He didn't want to be stuck in the retirement home, he had better things to do!
09.10.2025 05:16 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Australian guidelines are similar from memory. I'm late to the asthma club and mine usually plays nice unless it's hay fever season, so it's been a fun learning curve.
08.10.2025 01:07 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I haven't them either unfortunately. I can see them working really well for some people and terribly for others, but I'd love to have the choice.
