We're back in Judge Ellis' courtroom, on an injunction hearing against federal immigration agents' behavior in Chicago.

Full disclosure, I have professionally collaborated with some of the plaintiff journalists in this suit to cover Midway Blitz. However I am freelance, and not a plaintiff myself.

On August 7, according to the FBI, three men in black vests entered a New York restaurant claiming to be ICE agents. Inside, they tied a worker's hands and pulled a garbage bag over the person's head. Another, believing the burglars' story, surrendered themselves, only to be kicked to the ground and tied up as the intruders robbed an ATM.

It stinks that even when they lose in court, the tactic can still accomplish regime goals. In this case they were able to temporarily disrupt a DC-based protest org (“Mayday”) founded by the defendant. Luckily folks reorganized/rebranded and are still at it!
