(First I'm hearing of it π§)
Action shot of QB Joe Flacco, dressed in the home uniform of the Cleveland Browns, his former team, about to uncork a throw in last month's opener against his current team, the Cincinnati Bengals.
If Joe #Flacco sticks with the #Bengals the rest of the way he could conceivably start v. the #Browns in Week 18... the team he led against Cincy in Week 1! Has this kind of volte-face ever happened before within a single #NFL season? Surely not. #football

A man costumed as a Roman centurion stares at a smartphone in his hand. A structure partially seen in the background may or may not be the ruins of the Colosseum in Rome.
If America's present trajectory is roughly analogous to the decline of the Roman Empire (it's sure tempting to see it that way) is social media/AI slop our equivalent of their lead pipes, brain poisoning everybody and weakening the ruling class?

Literally just now occurred to me that there is a non-zero chance that Emmanuel ClasΓ© threw the 2024 ACS against the Yankees.
After a season with a 0.659 WHIP, he put up this line in three games against New York:

28.07.2025 14:53 β π 796 π 87 π¬ 12 π 1A selection from the Guardian's American news liveblog: One neighbor who lives across the street from the Robinsons, declined to be named. He said heβs βblind to the worldβ, and only learned about Robinsonβs arrest when he saw reporters and law enforcement in the street this morning. He was agnostic about the massive media presence on his street. βMother nature is mother nature, whatever she calls to do, letβs do it,β he said. And was similarly accepting when asked about Robinson, the subject of a massive 48-hour search, living just across the street. βIf itβs close to home, if itβs 50 miles from me, itβs the same damn thing,β he said. βShit happens and thatβs what it is.β
The Guardian cuts to the heart of the matter with its hard-hitting reporting.

11.09.2025 22:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0No argument from me there. But in a dining space, I'd suggest it needs to be a certain *kind* of kitsch - inviting, comforting. Dive was too cartoonish and plasticky. I recall as well the cacophonous simulated "dive" that happened every 15 mins - that was grating.

The interior design was impressive and memorable, but its unrelenting kitsch grew overbearing over the course of our meal. Honestly I'm surprised it lasted even as long as it did!
