Reading Roberto G. de Almeida’s dissertation on lexical concepts has me wondering: what experimental work explores the interface between (visual) perception of conceptual structures and lexical concept processing?

I grew up in a secular, Marxist, romantic home—surrounded by musicians, self-taught academics, and figures of defiance. Born a troublemaker, I was shaped by my mom's music, dad's science, and sister's resolve. I still wonder if it's my nature I'm doomed with or history that shaped who I am. (End)

My grandparents on both sides were ardent Marxists—one involved with the RSP, the other a staunch propagator of labour union statutes. My grandfather later shifted sides during Mamata Banerjee’s rise, seeing it as hope for Dalit solidarity—only for it to end in disappointment. 2/

My life as an Indian Dalit has been complex. My grandfather was forced into jobs Brahmins avoided—picking crops in leech-infested fields, truck driving, army cooking—before rising to lead the DSP labour union and becoming an amateur Dalit activist and liberation theologian. 1/ 🧵

2. Have we solved Poeppel's mapping problem in the neurobiology of language?
