All those deaths of innocent people that receive silence and yet so many feel that one death of someone who spoke against empathy and for the necessary death of innocent people to ensure the right to be armed and so many feel they must be public in their condolences and compassion for this one life

Number of cancelled licences for migrant work visas doubles Bosses were said to have underpaid workers and helped them get around immigration rules.

No issues at all with tackling unscrupulous employers. Without a genuine bridging visa system, which allows those migrants affected a chance to find new jobs and new visa routes, it leaves people either becoming undocumented, or having their lives upturned.

Great North Run apologises over β€˜Newcastle map’ medals that actually show Sunderland Finisher T-shirts also feature outline of River Wear, as organisers spin medals as β€˜most unique’ in event’s history The organisers of the Great North Run have apologised after finisher T-shirts and medals were printed with a map of rival north-east city Sunderland instead of Newcastle. About 600,000 took part in the half marathon on Sunday, running 13.1 miles from the centre of Newcastle, across the River Tyne, and through Gateshead, finishing by the coast in South Shields. Enjoyed a glorious day out at RHS Harlow Carr on Friday. I definitely need to add more late summer colour in my own garden.

(I've been trying to do this for a couple of years – but most of my new 'late summer' plants peaked early in the hot dry weather!)

A reminder that the Royal Family claim Β£500,000,000 a year in benefits even though they have Β£22bn.

While 650 MP's get an extra Β£150,000,000 in benefits a year on top of their Β£94,500 salaries.

If we are cracking down on benefits, start here.

The Handmaid's Tale is a good book. But did you know that there's a book written by a Black woman about a post-apocalyptic Earth heavily affected by climate change and societal decline. The book was published in 1993, but is set in 2024 following a presidential election πŸ‘€ #BookSky #BlackBookSky

This is ABSURD.
Sorry for shouting, but I vehemently disagree that by sheer accident of birth, this one man should have the power over so many that he does.
Swathes of people paying him rent for their homes.
Land reform is overdue.

Obligatory snow picture. It is very pretty. There isn't a huge amount of snow and it is melting, so I'll enjoy the view while it lasts.

A recent study got A LOT of attention for showing that writing by hand fosters **memory and learning**.

One small problem: the researchers DID NOT MEASURE how much participants remembered or learned.

I took out a factor of x^2 (which has to be positive), leaving (1 – x), which also has to be positive so x must be negative. That left an obvious integer value to try to see whether it hit the required answer. Definitely took me more than 5 seconds though πŸ˜‚
