Did I stay in bed until nearly midday, reading and doing puzzles? Why, yes I did. And it was great!

A reminder that the Royal Family claim ยฃ500,000,000 a year in benefits even though they have ยฃ22bn.

While 650 MP's get an extra ยฃ150,000,000 in benefits a year on top of their ยฃ94,500 salaries.

If we are cracking down on benefits, start here.

The Handmaid's Tale is a good book. But did you know that there's a book written by a Black woman about a post-apocalyptic Earth heavily affected by climate change and societal decline. The book was published in 1993, but is set in 2024 following a presidential election ๐Ÿ‘€ #BookSky #BlackBookSky

This is ABSURD.
Sorry for shouting, but I vehemently disagree that by sheer accident of birth, this one man should have the power over so many that he does.
Swathes of people paying him rent for their homes.
Land reform is overdue.

Obligatory snow picture. It is very pretty. There isn't a huge amount of snow and it is melting, so I'll enjoy the view while it lasts.

A recent study got A LOT of attention for showing that writing by hand fosters **memory and learning**.

One small problem: the researchers DID NOT MEASURE how much participants remembered or learned.

I took out a factor of x^2 (which has to be positive), leaving (1 โ€“ x), which also has to be positive so x must be negative. That left an obvious integer value to try to see whether it hit the required answer. Definitely took me more than 5 seconds though ๐Ÿ˜‚

That's a nice question. I suspect a lot of students would go for an algebraic solution, but some logical thinking is neater and far more satisfying here.
