Have you ever been utterly enthralled by a movie and at the end said ‘ I don’t really understand what that was about. But I don’t regret a second of it’? ‘The Man in the Hat’ did it for me tonight. Free on Prime. And utterly enchanting. A movie that only the French could make.

I thought it was interesting that the action was taken by the state authorities. I don’t know how/if the Church acted. The Pope’s knowledge of the Church in Latin America will give him a very strong insight into what’s going on there. And what needs to be done. Here’s hoping for better days

Being a whistleblower is a long, lonely, tiring business. It’s also vitally important if society is to change for the better. I wish those brave women all that is good.

And fourthly, find sound politicians with a moral backbone ( who you may or may not agree with politically) who will advocate for you and ensure that you are heard. You’ll soon find out who’s serious and who isn’t.

Thirdly a free press doing what a free press should be doing is, by and large, the whistleblowers’ friend. Use the media. But get specialist advice if you’ve not done it before. This is vital.

Secondly there is safety in numbers. This is rarely a place where single stories get anywhere. There literally is strength in numbers. As we saw today.
