I believe @tylerwilcox.bsky.social owns a coveted copy. Perhaps he can set up a small-scale loan program.

Digging the new Anthology 4 set but they really should’ve tucked these rarities into the original 3 volume sets and released them as β€œdeluxe” editions.

The chronological running order is what makes the series so enjoyable - this new volume feels carelessly tacked on. 🍏

The $11.5K asking price is wild (these originally sold for $5200) but I NEED to meet this fellow local Mellotron enthusiast.

Mellotron MK VI - musical instruments - by owner - sale - craigslist Mellotron MK VI in black for sale. It includes 5 tape frames (3 sounds per frame), 4 tape travel cases, Mellotron road case and a copy of the Mellotron book. Condition of everything is very good/...

Shocked to see a mint Mellotron mk VI for sale in Boulder! Only 102 of these were produced in 1999 in white, black and mahogany, all based on the specs of the classic 400 model.

I might need to drop by and kick the tires.

Miles in β€˜65: The Journey to the Plugged Nickel

aquariumdrunkard.com/2025/11/18/m...

En route to a two-week run at Chicago’s Plugged Nickel: β€œWhat if we made anti-music?” The results, documented on the newly reissued Complete Live at the Plugged Nickel, changed the landscape of modern jazz.

As ahead of its time this LP was in 71, Miles had just about exhausted this phase by the time of its release and was in the studio recording On the Corner within about 4 months!

The speed with which he evolved in this era is astonishing.

So worth your time! I can’t hang with a lot of his stuff, but this sort of heady Frippness is the sweet spot for me.

Recently familiarized myself with Fripp’s God Save the Queen/Under Heavy Manners LP and it’s incredible.

Full-band jams over Frippertronics loops w/a David Byrne vocal cameo. The missing piece of the Remain in Light + Bush of Ghosts trilogy.

5.2.1973 Los Angeles Before wrapping the Spring ’73 tour and trimming his 10-piece working group to a tidy septet, Miles brought his ensemble to Los Angeles for a pair of compulsory industry gigs – a brief …

Yep, this is from 5.2.73 in LA. You’ll find a couple additional photos and an audio clip here.

Farewell to the penny, a currency too woke for our stupid world.

The 1943 steel variant will always be my favorite.

Yeah I’ll never understand why mega bands of that era didn’t even take the time to record a simple stereo board feed.
