The best way to Build Canada is to build extensive and dedicated passenger rail.

Flying is dying and is far more expensive in the long run. It should not be so difficult, time-consuming, and expensive to get around Canada.

Choo Choo! Get rolling.

Do they realize ICE will be in history books next to German S.S. or are they hoping for that?

An ugly time in the USA. You've achieved the American Scream. Great again? #ICE #MAGA

There are thousands of survivors who are still alive today who gave first hand testimony of being raped and physically abused as children.

It's not "just asking questions" to call thousands of survivors of abuse liars. You're attempting to normalize child abuse and should be shamed

Who is accountable? Anyone?

This is why people no longer trust police and avoid calling them. Anyone done a study on how many times people did not report crimes and why?

Hence they also are fighting back against increases to police budgets.

There is no need or no benefit except for a very short one for a few people.

And no, they do not increase the threat from wildfires. They survive them most of the time...hence they are this old! #BritishColumbia

Since my first job nearly 35 years ago, Nova Scotia's minimum wage has risen at a whopping 35 cents per year.

Go look how much executive compensation has increased in that time.

Compare to the companies with mostly low wage workers.

We have a problem. And it won't be solved at $0.35/year less tax

I'd like to wish my landlord a wonderful holidays. I do hope they have a great time wherever they are, likely not spending money in #BritishColumbia while I spend my days off building a case for why my landlord owes me for buying them a fridge for their unit.

I'll finally get to hear his voice!

Option B is not an option. That would be to remove the costs from my rent. If I were to do this, my landlord could kick us out by January for non-payment of rent.

I am now a renting tenant who has also assumed the responsibilities of my landlord. Because I live in Beautiful #BritishColumbia

What must I do in this situation in #BritishColumbia
1. Pay rent in full today
2. Submit dispute to RTB - which comes with a $100 fee
3. Wait until at least late January for a hearing
4. Prepare copious evidence for hearing
5. Attend hearing
6. Wait another month for hearing results

For us, the landlord ran from their responsibility of supplying a fridge in our kitchen as outlined in our lease. I paid to replace it and they have not paid me back, I must now fight for my money through a months-long process I will most likely lose - just as most tenants do in #BritishColumbia

Next, the tenant will need to fight for any funds they have put forward to solve the landlord's issue. This will require you to enroll in a law program or hire a lawyer, submit a dispute with the RTB, WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, and then lose to your landlord over a small detail despite overwhelming evidence.

I've learned that renting in #BritishColumbia means you must be both a tenant and landlord at the same time. The regulations are heavily in landlords' favour, and here is a perfect example. If there is an issue that a landlord is legally required to address, the tenant is therefore responsible.

When we moved in, the unit had been freshly reno'd and had all new appliances. Since 2020, only one of the original appliances has survived without repair or replacement - a reality of today's crappy products that tenants pay rent so they don't have to worry about. Or do they?

For awareness, we live in a complex and believe we are now the longest tenants in the two rowhouses, having moved in only five years ago. They are remodeled units, that lack insulation and an electrical standard from 70 years ago. Top rent for a 3bed is $2,800. Or >$500,000/year across the complex.

By November 14, I had submitted all receipts to the landlord for reimbursement and let the site super know - they replied "Thanks." Since that day, no communication.

I took option 2, as the last time it took them nearly two months to get what we pay for on the first day of the month - the appliances listed in our lease. In a shock move, they also offered to replace the food that had been cooked in the fridge. We replaced most, not all, being nice.

Renting in #BritishColumbia - a landlord's paradise. Next chapter (there are many). Our fridge died on Nov. 10. Site Super gave us the option of ordering through them or buying and getting reimbursed.

Be sure to compare to coverage in other municipalities. The uncomfortable truth is firefighting, and police costs have exploded despite a decline in the economic strength of taxpayers. Largely based on union math and taking on responsibilities that distract from core duties.

Is it affordable?

Only a sick, demented and racist mind would want to dig up children's graves to lose a point.

The evidence of torture, malnutrition, abuse and excess deaths at Residential Schools was kept by the perpetrators as they believed they were right.

They were not.

Stop promoting pedophiles!
