100% disagree. All STEM these days pretty much boils down to how well you can use a computer. Having someone who can write software packages for niche areas would be invaluable to so many STEM disciplines, many of which have some to rely on a sort of imitation of CS.

Funny that this comes at a time when theyre cutting funding for academic research, too. a CS degree would be useful in a ton of academic disciplines. they'd probably all think theyre above the peanuts that academia pays anyways.

i think we need class solidarity as a baby step towards other things. my point is that we have to start somewhere and that the social justice 101 approach is not going to go anywhere. in fact, it comes across as another tool of the bossman to divide the workers and to discourage class solidarity.

working class men do not want to hear about male privilege, white privilege, etc. that approach is a guaranteed non-starter. you can only start to get somewhere with these guys when you talk about solidarity. this is my experience as a man who has worked some awful blue collar jobs.

who is pro-russia? i don't know of a single pro-russian activist group operating within the united states. there are groups critical of US involvement in the ukraine war, but it is irrational to think that is an inherently pro-russian position.
