Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.
We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.
They own what happens next.

Today's specials at the shit sandwich cafe:
- Trump to dismantle the Department of Education
- 240,000 Ukrainians to have their legal status revoked; subject to deportation
- 70,000 job cuts planned at the VA
- GDP receding. Prices on the rise. Markets in free fall. Trumpcession is inevitable.

I agree 1000%. My point was we can’t treat every thing equally bad or we get overwhelmed.

We have so much to keep an eye on. This is not that bad. Biden did the same thing. The boards of visitors are made up of lawmakers and presidential appointees who meet several times a year to provide advice on issues like curriculum, morale, academic methods and the needs of the institutions.

When making a MAGA cabinet, it's very important to strike a careful balance between billionaires, sex criminals, Russian assets, anti-vaxxers, and just plain unpleasant people.

“Elon, I served in the military for 22 years — and my loyalty is to the U.S. Constitution against all enemies foreign & domestic. That’s why I reported Trump.
I’m not intimidated by you.”

The Trump ordeal has made one thing clear.
Too many of our checks and balances rely on norms, traditions and the honor code.
It works when those elected into power are people of honor and integrity who respect our norms and traditions.
Elect a lifelong criminal and it all goes sideways.

The Tariff Act of 1930 was designed for protectionist trade. It imposed high tariffs on over 20,000 imported goods which led to retaliatory tariffs from other countries.
Why am I telling you this?

Trump alone didn't beat the justice system.
He had help.
It took Oligarchs relentlessly amplifying his lies on their media platforms.
Ethically compromised members of the Supreme Court.
70+ million willing to vote for a convicted felon.
There's a lot to fix. But it can be fixed. It must.

So let me get this straight.
If you apply for a job at a grocery store, you have to undergo a background check.
But, if you apply to be Director of National Intelligence, you don't?
Got it.
