Well, Chisa is more of a stranger in a strange land in her card, given she is an alien (a grey) even among aliens (green men).

The game also inverses the roles on purpose. In the story Mito is framed as an alien, because the café she works at is called Maid Planet, which makes Chisa a cowboy, but in the cards Chisa is an alien and Mito is a cowboy. I wonder what that means 🤔

I like how the game also hints that she may or may not be related to several girls getting food poisoning. Was there a reason for her to do that? Who knows. But the devs did choose the reason for them taking days off that just makes you think of her instantly.

Also, apparently she tricked Panda into going with her to a maid café, because she was too embarrassed to go alone.

Love Chisaʼs new story, sheʼs just so very her in it. Whatʼs really going on in her mind? Youʼll never know. In fact, her mask is such a natural state for her, I donʼt know what should happen for her to take it off (well, it did almost break due to stress once, though).

They talked about past yearʼs WDS live a bit and generally had a lot of fun. Ricochi also got to act out the Dark Emperor Rico...

They were sitting there like “you are the fire to my ice.”

Watched Ricochiʼs stream with Sally... Canʼt believe she was expressing Chisaʼs love for Kathrina for an hour straight 💔

WDS on the third year of its run: Fortress of Lies.

And this is exactly the experience I signed up for!!!

And WDS is just exactly the same. If you pay close attention to what characters say or do or how the game presents them you realise there’s so many inconsitences you understand less and less what is the truth, what is the illusion and what is just your imagination.

I love it so much that Rika and Luna’s story may come off as being fairly simple, but when you take the time to think about it, you notice that it starts to fall apart as soon as episode 2 and becomes complete nonsense by the end (I generally mean the prelude, but actually even before that).

Yeah, after reading it I understood your posts about the horror vibes more and I absolutely loved it too!!

(While I’m at it, thank you so much for the immense effort you put into archiving everything related to Mujina Carnival! I’ve just read it yesterday, it really does provide a lot of context for the band and is very engaging in itself.)

Chisa has no distinctive traits, because her sense of self is heavily damaged and she’s been forced to adapt for the longest time. But Yae, while she does have distinctive traits, is essentially just an amalgamation of everything she’s absorbed.

Like, I was wondering why Chisa and Yae share some similarities in their character presentation, but that makes so much sense when you think about it.

Tbh, Yae “never having a real personality since birth” is probably way too accurate. I won’t be surprised if that’s how it turns out to be.

It probably doesn’t mean anything, but I’m thinking how in LesMis Chisa couldn’t save Kokona, but made up for it by saving Shizuka.

Actually, that fits so well with the fact that Hatsune was the one who wanted to bring back Mujica, but Umiri ended up being the one proactively working on that.

And in Garupa, the cards for MyGO/Mujica feature the same characters in the trained and untrained, except for the Taki/Timoris card that has Hatsune instead of Umiri in the untrained.

I’m losing my mind over this. Like, thinking how the story of Rika and Luna relates to Doloris and Oblivionis is fun, but also how about the fact Rika got Timoris’ color scheme that becomes closer to that of Doloris’ after Rika goes to the haunted house?

And twice as funny when you remember the storyline of Sirius’ Masquerade roulette.

Whatever I wrote in the linked threads becomes funnier after you’ve watched Mujina Carnival.

The devs really did a 180 degree turn here… It’s like she’s risen like a star, and in the story of WDS, that’s what Chisa also did this year. It was just such a clever arrangement, well done, Bushi & Bandai, well done.

It makes me so happy to see Ricochi’s fans coming to WDS live!! Really shows how much recognition she gained in the past year… Back when Global Stage was held, her character still was considered a pretty niche one to like.
