We do listen to others. "The left" is extremely broad and has a lot of different voices. We just don't listen to people with no interest in making things better.

The rise of the Nazi party, for example, was created by the "centrists" compromising with them. The trump admin happened because of the democrat leadership "compromising" with Republicans over the course of 30ish years.

Show examples then. Because reality shows that progress happens when leftist ideas are taken seriously, and regression happens when you start "compromising" with conservatives.
