This looks like a great resource. Lots to think about.

Starmer 2.0: could a more authentic PM revive Labour’s appeal? After surviving a coup, and with his critics chastened, No 10 insiders say a more combative PM is up for taking the fight to Reform UK

Condemning Reform, Ratcliffe and Lam's racist rhetoric is an important and very welcome shift.

But it means little unless accompanied by changes to the government's own *policies* -especially the vindictive and counterproductive earned settlement proposals.

Frank Wilhoit’s law: Conservatism consists of exactly one proposition, to wit: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind, alongside out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.

Reform will try to sell you that it's a fight between left and right.
Green Party will remind you that it's really a fight between top and bottom.

You can get the MMR vaccine as an adult from your gp, it’s not too late to protect yourself and others. And of course make sure your kids are up to date with theirs!

Wrote this for @migrantvoice.bsky.social on hostility of this government's changes to immigration rules for "earned settlement". We hear politicians talk about "British values", "integration" and "fairness". Labour destroys any concept of all three with its treatment of migrants through this policy.

TV show pitch: β€˜Tome Team’, where a group of rare books librarians and book historians are sent to investigate an uncatalogued library for interesting incunabula, marginalia and provenances - and they have just three days to do it.

I am one of the most published academics on the childhood social transition, with 5 peer reviewed articles that relate to the topic.

There is so much evidence of benefit of social transition.

There is no evidence of harm. Not one jot.

This will literally kill trans kids. No exaggeration.

We're really proud of the platform we've built at Bold Politics in just four months and whilst we've loved having the hosts of Match of the Day and Loose Women on, it's also important that we share the stories of people without platforms too.

Harriet Harman said on the Electoral Dysfunction podcast (24.5.25) that the prison estate is used according to security, there’s complete discretion, and especially dangerous women prisoners have always been held in the male estate. Why do we never hear about that?

As you have done, the consequences need to be spelled out. The benefits of international talent, and the costs to the talent of contributing, aren’t adequately factored in.

A few days ago, I stood in the graveyard of an 1100 year old church, getting damper and damper in the drizzling rain.

A woman walked into the graveyard, waved, said hello, and, as we had previously arranged, handed me a paper bag full of human bones.

The life of a churchwarden is a strange one...

Very nice. (We had a power cut once over breakfast time a few days before Christmas. When the lights came back and we blew out the candles, we found a puddle of tea on the kitchen table. It made me wonder how much dirt and mess went undiscovered before electric light.)

A week and a bit into the job search, so obviously going to keep re-upping this. Pretty sure that this is the worst time of year to be looking for jobs in my area, but if you are looking for a Comms, policy, advocacy person, or know someone who is, please do let me know or share.

We Need to Talk About How We Talk About 'AI' | TechPolicy.Press We share a responsibility to create and use empowering metaphors rather than misleading language, write Emily M. Bender and Nanna Inie.

Anthropomorphizing language conceals the limitations of AI, promoting misplaced trust. @emilymbender.bsky.social & @nannainie.bsky.social suggest focusing on a system’s functionalities: instead of saying a model is β€œgood at” something, say what it is β€œgood for." www.techpolicy.press/we-need-to-t...
