31.07.2025 16:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have been back and forth over the span of 5 years about whether to publish this article.
All opinions and experiences in this post are my own, or from people I personally know, backed up with recent reports and statistics.
Iβm so glad you decided to publish this β€οΈβπ₯ There are so many parallelβs to other marginalized groups and how Iβve felt about some of the performative nature.
In my experience these initiatives are great for establishing community and opening doors but maybe not the systemic impact thatβs needed.

Maybe the business case is just hype and marketing noise, something to distract from floundering on Apple intelligence. βLook over thereβ kinda vibes.

08.06.2025 03:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A very timely read for tech workers right now.
My favorite takeaway as it applies to cross-functional teams, especially for designers:
"in order to master your own domain, the boundaries of your specialism will often blur with specialists in other domains."
The parallels to fast fashion is spot on. Loved the POV beyond the tech bubble it brings from other industries.
Sometimes we forget how young tech is relative to other industries and the lessons that can be learned from others.

Research is also more than UXR alone imo.
But if a company has any of these 3 things, I find it unlikely they do discovery in the first place, more so βvalidationβ at the end.

Deceptive patterns are often the result of teams over optimizing for business metrics, whether it was intended or not. I think the responsibility ultimately belongs to the people creating the incentives.
