Math dude, doing math with BEV market shares https://ts.la/raphael59773
The green HEV bar has not yet started to shrink.
28.01.2026 17:01 โ ๐ 12 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Interestingly in the case of Slovakia, the recent speed up towards BEV didn't really have an influence on PHEV. It came from ICE instead.
28.01.2026 17:00 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Like is the current general global trend now, Slovakia is also accelerating their BEV transition right now.

The market in Romania is dominated by HEV at the moment. HEV peak has not been reached yet it seems and acceleration towards BEV is not yet happening there.

Just like in so many places, HEV currently dominates Lithuania too. However, HEV share is now falling and things will continue onwards to PHEV and ultimately BEV.
28.01.2026 16:44 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Lithuania now seems tucked into acceleration of their transition towards BEV.
28.01.2026 16:42 โ ๐ 7 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Lithuania had a great December for BEV. This pulled their PHEV peak closer to the present by a noticeable amount of time.

PHEV is currently taking a relevant market share in Latvia off of Diesel and Petrol. Petrol still dominates there though.
28.01.2026 16:38 โ ๐ 7 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Latvia has gotten slower over the years in terms of BEV adoption speed. No idea when this will shift, but they are a case where the used market is far faster than their new registration market. They'll shift once the big markets do.
28.01.2026 16:36 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Latvia is one of the few markets that shows a relevant maximum PHEV market share.

Pure ICE is already more or less negligible in Iceland.
It's a small market though, so influence is accordingly small.

Diesel seems stubborn in Hungary, but Petrol is going the way of the Dodo in favour HEV at the moment. However, HEV has peaked now and things will go BEV and PHEV now.
27.01.2026 21:10 โ ๐ 12 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Slowdown seems to have also halted in Hungary. Transition towards BEV should soon accelerate again.

Pure Diesel is basically already dead in Greece. HEV is currently dominating and has probably not yet peaked entirely. Should happen soon though.

Estonia is heavy on HEV
27.01.2026 20:58 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0In 2024, Estonia had a sudden slow down of BEV adoption. They seem kind of stable now? The entry of Tesla should change things in 2026.

Levels for BEV and PHEV are currently still low in Czechia. Their transition speed would have made you think they'd be higher already, but as you know, slow at first ...
Also how are Diesel still a thing there? xD
