An Amazon van surrounded by water in the Thames
This image of an Amazon van abandoned in the Thames Estuary faintly evokes an impressionist painting. I am so moved.

15.02.2026 16:34 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0We are going to have the house, senate, and presidency soon. It will be a generational opportunity to rein in tech companies, break up monopolies, throw Trump regime in prison, create strong social safety nets, get back to valuing education, science, the environment, etc
We canโt fuck it up.
Why on earth were they selling this in the first place

13.02.2026 17:49 โ ๐ 3 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0This is at least the second state AG office to create one of these "Strategic Litigation" divisions. Tennessee has one (formerly headed by Whitney Hermandorfer, now of the CA6). These cases are usually handled by the state SG. Do they need backup? Is this about credentialing more culture warriors?

12.02.2026 18:14 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Two other thoughts: (1) GWBs nominees could be filibustered, so thatโs going to moderate the noms generally, and (2) blue slips. A lot of states we think of as deep Red today (Florida, Louisiana, Missouri, etc.) had a democratic senator not that long ago who would have had to sign off.

Guinness 0.0 is pretty close but notably sweeter than the real thing. And (small thing) but it drives me nuts that it doesn't fill a proper Guinness pint glass. Make it 20oz!
A couple of random NA beer musings by an amateur. I don't like the taste of most of them. I've tried a lot of them. Maybe Athletic is the "best" / least bad, but when I have a beer these days, it's usually one (two at most) and I want something that really tastes good...
12.02.2026 17:13 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Sure, agree. To play devil's advocate, though, if he's so determined to retire and not hide it, why not just make the announcement? Plenty of others have done it before the end of the current term. Just be out with it and get a big, fond, long farewell celebration?
