Started working on a holiday gift for my cousin’s baby.. so. many. pieces. I’ve spent most of my evening getting the pieces cut out & ready for assembly.

Made 7qts wassail, 4 pints blackberry applesauce, 5qts cranberry juice, 2qts cran-blackberry juice, a batch of chocolate chip biscotti… went to make a batch of yogurt & found the adult-teen “mistook” the jar of the other 1/2 can of sweetened condensed milk as yogurt last week…

I’m not good at being a newbie & taking things one step at a time. So when the books say “wind an easy, evenly striped, 2yd warp” I decided to weave a patterned/twill 6yd warp instead

The reason a lot of white people can operate in the privilege of a comment like “we used to be able to have dissenting opinions & now they break friendships” is because the people of color in the room had to be silent in order to remain in the room safely.

Went to visit Grandma in hospital for her leg/hip surgery. She may not remember any of her family (or what happened 2mins ago) but she’s strong as ever.

In other news, my offspring is trying to be a good friend/influence & making me so proud (despite his friends having less than stellar parents)

BREAKING: The number of jobs created in August has been revised from 54,000 down to -3,000.

Very dementia (nearly 89yr old) Grandma fell & broke her leg. Moved her to a hospital in my town (1.5hrs away from her home facility) to attempt surgery tomorrow. Lots of (confusing) emotions during this “the veil is thinning” time of year. 😢

Turns out.. my crockpot holds 6lbs of sliced onions. And after 14+ hours, I had considerably LESS volume of caramelized onions

Weight-gain probably just cycle-related, face spot is just a sign of aging & likely genetic (not concerning), and desk clean out due to mis-match and people who claim to want “change” but actively work against it.

But my yarn is super damn pretty!

What a rollercoaster these last 7days have been. Was down 10lbs in weight-loss on Monday, but then up 4lbs during the week, went to Derm on Fri to check spot on face, and now I’m sitting in the parking lot, knitting, while my partner clears out his desk at work…

10lbs down, 40 to go!

Spent the holiday weekend rearranging my Craftice (Craft Room + Office) to try & fit my “new” floor loom. Ended up peer-pressuring myself into painting which made the process take 3x as long.

Of course now I can confirm. I have no idea how to get the yarn on the loom 🤣 but my room is cozy!
