In a Sane World (Take Five)
A picture of a presidency that would make sense—in 25 thoughts
In a sane world: “He would praise the Constitution, respect the rule of law, seek justice, cherish fundamental rights and strengthen education. He would use every day…to make lives better—because he understands that’s the only real reason to take the job.”

It's ONLY been 65 years since six year old Ruby Bridges walked through the halls of William Frantz Elementary as the first Black child to attend an all white school. Met with mobs and hate, her bravery and courage helped change the course of history for this nation.

Keep what's good in the ACA, but eliminate private profiteering insurers who sell the marketplace plans. In the short term, fix the ACA, then fight like hades for a national, publicly funded, single payer healthcare system. Pay for it as we fund fire protection and defense. Let clinicians run it.

If ACA goes away and people have to find their own policies you can count on millions of people being denied coverage because of preexisting conditions. The ACA made it illegal for insurance companies to refuse coverage or raise rates for preexisting medical issues. I know because I was one of them.

Y'know, there are lots of journalists out there (male, female and so on) who actually uphold the ethics of the profession and do their jobs and don't get their own "Kill Bill"-themed glamour profile.

Then they came for the Dreamers
Immigrants brought here as children were told they wouldn’t be deported. Now, they’re being targeted anyway.
“Trump actually being the one to now try and deport them is the biggest violation of this group, but the reason he can is because they were betrayed long before that.”

The ACA is certainly flawed, but Trumps's "concept" would take us back to the dark ages when you could be refused insurance if you had a pre-existing condition. Can you imagine the skimpy, death-dealing plans he would approve? We need a national, publicy funded, single-payer MedicareForAll plan.
