That’s what I’m thinking. Then you get to set the parameters.

I think it may depend on the venue/topic. Anything mainstream or vanilla I’d contact the lit orgs because it’s one of the times in the year when they have budget to spend on these types of events. If it’s anything fun I’d crowdfund or go with entrance fees. The people want something new.

Pleased to have my poem β€˜Revellers Howl in the Fine Hours’ selected by @alanparry83.bsky.social as part of @brokenspinearts.bsky.social collection β€˜Glow: City at Night Poetry’. Among some great company. The collection takes a nocturnal journey through urban landscapes. #CityAtNight

Or does that law cease to be law if there is no potential punishment assigned to not following its precepts? What is the line between a β€œnatural” presupposition amongst rational animals that makes us who we are and a law designed and enforced by the state to establish order amongst us?

If a law is a good law (meaning its intent and impact is the betterment of all beings) then do we need the threat or punishment of incarceration to make us follow that law?

Hello!
As a primarily free verse poet I don’t think rhyme is necessary. However, because of the musicality inherent in the ways that we speak, sometimes rhyme happens and makes our poems sing.

Fantastic workshop! I love the prompts and close reading. I can’t wait to edit the poem I wrote. I think it has legs. Thank you!
