Gotta love Third Winter.

As a Canadian, I don’t feel joy over what this man is going through. Nor do I feel joy for what is coming for Trump voters, who are likely going to bare the brunt of the hardship to come. Even if they “deserve” it.

But I understand the necessity of taking this stance and sending a message.

I’ve done the same, despite my last group de solving a couple years ago, and a I’ve done it for Rifts, despite not having played a game since the turn of the millennium.

Sometimes ideas just need to be expressed, even if there’s no one to share them with.

I don’t know if I like the card-draw aspect, but I am really intrigued by the idea of lower initiative = more actions. There’s a lot of interesting ways that could be integrated into a system implications for character builds.

I think that Logan foreshadowed Patric Stewart’s aging as much as Xavier’s. Let the man retire and enjoy his remaining years in comfort.

I think part of it is that the options they might propose would freak too many people out. Realistically, addressing corporate landlords is going to take extreme measures. Heavy taxes on rental income paired with stringent rent caps. Way too easy for PP to weaponize in sound his bites.

Free-flowing faucets would seem to be a no-no. Both for water conservation, as well as because flooding could pose an especially serious problem for such a habitat. It could collect in a specific section and throw off the spin, and cleanup, without dedicated drains, would be a challenge.

Resolved, no. But they’ve lessened back to the point where I can more or less function.

A few years ago, I was dealing with especially bad health issues and my manager suggested that I consider going on short-term disability to focus on my recovery. I looked into it, but I was just scraping by as it was, and the payments wouldn’t cover my rent, utilities and food. Very disheartening.

Even then, I was on ICQ and AOL chatrooms before I was old enough to reasonably be home alone.

Utter nonsense rage bait. I’m an elder millennial. I remember life before internet, and before cell phones. We were already living in front of screens. There were 6 huge console releases before I left elementary.

They did, luckily! It took about two weeks for the pain to completely subside, and I haven’t experienced any issues since. Perhaps it was a mild case, or the root cause was different? Either way, I’m very glad that surgery was unnecessary.

How do you reconcile “restoring trust in institutions” as a means of combating authoritarianism with the fact that said institutions are playing an active role in enabling authoritarianism? What does rehabilitation look like in this context?

Similar situation here, if less severe. Sudden abdominal pain, went to the ER and had to wait a bit, but I got a CT scan, found out a section of my intestines had twisted and swollen but would probably right themselves with a regimen of anti inflammatories and painkillers. Didn’t pay a cent.

I dunno. What use is capitalism when the capitalists have truly seized all power? As overdone as techno-feudalism/corporate-feudalism is in fiction, it does seem more and more likely.

It’s especially bad for English universities in Quebec, as the provincial government has already made them a battlefield in the language war and drastically cut funding for them.

The simplest answer is that most post-sec funding is provincial in nature, and most provinces (to say nothing of the universities themselves) are currently preoccupied with trying to figure out how to navigate the budget revenue shortfalls caused by the changes to student visas.

It was frustrating to see&hear the various talking points, click-bait and manufactured rage around the protests in Montréal. I lived here a decade, I work within a couple blocks of the places where many of these protests have taken place. There’s more far disruption and damage following NHL games.

It’s not just the scope of the tattoo and the trauma it inflicts on the body—it’s also the unexpected difference between a 2 hour session and 6 hour session. It was damned exponential.

Bring more snacks than you think you’ll need, and prepare for a nap after.

My single tattoo sessions and my (modest) sleeve sessions were incredible different on my body.

But my very first TTRPG character was a robotic bird-like creature named Bird I created when I was 8. He had locking joints, laser eyes, and a hidden poison dispenser in his mouth.

I miss Rifts.

Technically, my first character was the Cleric I used for the single-player intro dungeon in the red box. I can’t remember anything about him.

My first character in an actual campaign (AD&D) was a whiny, puny wizard named Craven. He had atrocious stats, and died during the first session.

The sad truth is that donny's cuts to social services, or government contracts that directly and indirectly employ millions, and the economic shut show he’s started, will do far more to push away republicans than anything the left can do. It still won’t matter for many, but it’s something.

Honestly? You can’t, in any meaningful way. You’re not going to reprogram tens of millions of people who have been indoctrinated for decades—from birth for many. With a lot of time and effort, you might sway someone who’s primed for it. But that sort of person is likely to drop their support anyway.

But the truth may simply be that he desires the sort of power and control that Putin has, and that those who oppose him are too toothless and ineffectual to stop him.

I don’t often peddle conspiracy theories. They are almost universally the product of grift, willful ignorance, and/or lack of critical thinking. But I will say that nothing Trump has said or done suggests he isn’t a Russian asset, and indeed, a lot makes more sense if he is.

Hard to call this one a shitty spell. Variations on it exist across a number of games.
