“They asked for a sword, and we said, ‘Well, we do have swords, but we can’t give them away because they’re museum artifacts,’” said Todd Arrington, forced to resign as head of Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library.”

American citizens are far more afraid of the so-called "law enforcement" agencies than the "terrorists" they claim to be going after.
Don't you dare say, "This is no longer the United States." The f*ck it isn't. There are tens of millions of Americans who claim they are sick of this BS.

Wow. It should get more attention that on most social media sites aside from X, the Trump White House is getting absolutely ripped to shreds over the shutdown. These Instagram comments are absolutely brutal for them.

Marin supervisors consider big salary hike for themselves
The proposal would raise the pay from 60% of a Superior Court judge’s salary to 75%.
A job that pays $148,968, plus benefits such as health insurance & pensions worth about $59,000 annually & $800 monthly car allowance & stipends for serving on boards and commissions feels like an abundance of riches most people will never get to experience.

Let us in. Hold ICE accountable. Tear down the fence.
This is what we are demanding from the Broadview ICE facility, and nothing less.
Our leaders can decide whether they stand with the people or with ICE. There is no middle ground.

Libraries are so cool. Whenever I'm away from home and need a place to hang out between things, I find a library. There's a bathroom, a water fountain, chairs, and I can read, meditate, use the computers, or just be, and no one tries me make me buy anything.

Jamal Khashoggi, the Washington Post, and the Cost of Speaking Out
As Saudi Arabia hosts comedians and courts gamers, the silenced voice of Jamal Khashoggi still echoes.
Washington Post dismantled the platform Jamal wrote on. Discarded the fellowship they created in his memory.
They fired me unjustly for speaking the truth.
But I’ll never stop talking about my friend, writer, and amazing human, Jamal Khashoggi.
RIP, Jamal.

Comey Indictment Shows Danger of Subservient Prosecutors
The political prosecution of a presidential enemy has left the government with a seemingly unwinnable case — and a justice system tainted by politics.
Halligan may have obtained the indictment the president wanted, but it...one thing to get a grand jury to indict. Getting a conviction is an entirely different matter. New from me for @brennancenter.org A discussion of the flawed Comey indictment. www.brennancenter.org/our-work/ana...

Elon Musk Leads Campaign To Force Netflix To Remove Shows With Trans Characters
Musk's posts have been seen by tens of millions of users, and many conservatives are now attempting to force Netflix into a removal of LGBTQ+ content.
1. Led by Elon Musk, the far-right has exploded in a campaign to get Netflix to remove shows with queer and trans characters.
If Netflix capitulates to their demands, an already strained market for LGBTQ+ animators might become even more dire.

I have been an editor and copy editor for 4 decades. I would send this sentence back to the writer asking them to do a better job, because that's what we do, and if they couldn't come up with something more coherent, I would rewrite it or just delete it entirely.
