The US president trafficked & raped underage girls, the evidence is overwhelming, everyone knows it, and this country's elites & institutions are so broken, so insular, so decadent that we can't even bring ourselves to state it clearly, much less do anything about it.

Contemptible & pathetic.

Attempting to root for this guy would make me wonder what I did to deserve this karmic retribution (other than profess to anyone who would listen that Ben Simmons is, in fact, bad at basketball).

Two weeks have passed since a Florida Highway Patrol officer arrested the Honduran immigrant client of Magdalena Cuprys of Cuprys & Associates. “He was stopped at a weigh station in Tampa because he owns a construction company, and he was required to stop for his truck to be weighed,” Cuprys told me. “The client had a valid Florida driver’s license. The patrol officer called Customs and Border Protection on him. The client called me, and the officer took the phone from him and spoke with me.” She asked why CBP was alerted. “I was advised that the client looked Hispanic, had a Hispanic name, and now they are collaborating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and CBP, and their orders are to call CBP any time they encounter anyone they suspect is an immigrant,” said Cuprys. “I asked if they would have followed the same process if it had been me driving, and the response was it depends if you look Hispanic.”

Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of the dot on scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner of the dot. How frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds.

Back in 2018 when TJ played for the Sixers I told all of my friends that he was better than Ben Simmons. Specifically, I said "Ben Simmons STINKS and they should play TJ more than him". It's still my Magnum Opus basketball take.

I saw Drake & dvsn at the O2 and Drake brought out Krept & Konan to do "Don't Waste My Time". The place went BERZERK and I realized at that time that I've been missing out on a lot of awesome rap/hip-hop.

I got a little sad reading this, knowing my kids will never experience the excitement that the *hope* of running into your friends would bring, and then possibly the boredom that comes when it doesn't work out. They'll never really know "boredom" in general.

Back in HS (in Manchester, NH), people would just show up at the Dairy Queen with the hope that others would be there, then we'd talk about what we're all doing that night. But sometimes no one would be there! So I'd just shoot hoops at the park nearby 😂.
