Guilty as charged many days this year and last year

Remember, if you are freeing an idea that was trapped in the mind onto a chosen medium, that is enough, and effective

We completely get the desire to chase big numbers, since culture treats the numbers game as the only true "success", but all number chasing does is kill the will to pick up the pen

There will be days you won't be able to ride an inspiration high, but that does not mean you can't draw

Listen to me. Listen. If you're making images that will only be displayed on screens, YOU HAVE TO LET GO. You can calibrate your screens perfectly, but then 25k people will see it on their shitty $50 monitors or cracked phone and its out of your hands. Don't think of it. Achieve enlightenment.

People want to "fit in", "be part of the club", and there is nothing that strikes fear in many more then the idea they are an "outsider", because outsider is often treated as "lesser"

The sooner we stop treating the numbers game as a divide between "good and evil", the better

Agreed. Metric-based, numbers-hungry engagement only feeds our inate need to be a part of popular things, regardless if we even LIKE em or not.

And I feel like thats what holds back alot of media and artists, this corporate-trained desire to just boost the popular vs making GOOD, authentic art.

but again, this is less a Miyamoto thing specifically and more a Nintendo culture thing. Nintendo makes toys, not cultural products. why would you want to play with old toys, makes no sense to the executives over there

Never underestimate humanity's ability to lock in at the worst of times

Humans could be standing right in front of a train, blaring it's horn as it thunders past them, only for the person to be oblivious because they saw something on the ground, and then ask "Hey, did the train show up yet?"

People will hear every part of the answer, EXCEPT the "this is just my take" part

You could literally have it flashing in bright neon text on stream, have everyone chanting "THIS IS JUST A TAKE, NOT OFFICIAL"

And they will only react to the part that caught their attention xD

This is why, LONG before all of this... Oh god we are old enough to say "back in the day"...

... We would, and still, IMMEDIATELY disable autocorrect on any new phone that we got

Already can notice a few influences in your style can recognize~

Your style gravitates to a slight exaggeration of realism, grounded yet pushes details for expression

Embracing this "exaggerated grit with pops with color" will help know where your end goal is

Scientists and marketing have spent millions and poured hours into finding what the secret to fashion was

And they were not prepared for the true answers that were there the whole time that they always overlooked

Headcanons can be a good bit of fun, but what tends to poison fandoms is when they start treating canon interpretation as a moral test, the "right way" to enjoy it, and the "EVIL!" way

Especially the more connected someone gets to a headcanon, some fans have a tendency to treat it VERY personally

This right here is the killer of artists, comparing others to yourself, fueling feelings of inadequacy and the idea you are a "lesser" artist for not getting those numbers/tools others use

Any person who picks up a pen and puts ideas to either a digital or physical medium, is a good enough artist

Both your rejection of yourself and envy for others trip you up and lead you spiraling.

The more you try to reject where you are currently, the more the motivation to create dies as you feel locked in place

Every line placed, even if it needs to be tweaked or replaced, is a step forward
