Itโs one of the strangest things I have seen on tennis internet. Even before the Holger Rune injury last year this is the wildest take.

A Tennis Podcast where winning is only half the story. ๐๏ธ๐พ By @afolorunso.bsky.social & @nickcartertennis.bsky.social ๐ง: groundpasspodcast@gmail.com https://linktr.ee/GroundPass
Itโs one of the strangest things I have seen on tennis internet. Even before the Holger Rune injury last year this is the wildest take.
28.01.2026 22:21 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0You know who pushed through injury recentlyโฆ
Holger Rune.
He is now missing an entire season. So Musetti should risk that?
Didnโt mention this on the podcast dropping soon because I am only just seeing the discourse online now but anyone who thinks Musetti should have kept on playing and potentially risk worse injury has clearly lost touch. What a wild thought to have.
28.01.2026 21:16 โ ๐ 10 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 3 ๐ 0Wait did I jinx the semifinal match up I wanted to see with todayโs recap ๐ซฃ
28.01.2026 05:16 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Easy breezy Jessica Pegula.
So cool calm, no fuss no muss.
I love an expressive player but there is something about JPEG thatโs justโฆ ๐

quarterfinals.jpeg is looking so good!

28.01.2026 02:26 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Another straight set match at the Australian Open. Elena Rybakina played well in the 2nd set but Iga Swiatek kinda went away. ๐คท๐พโโ๏ธ

That was a very long debriefโฆ

This is an odd little match. Looked like it could go either way and itโs Elena Rybakina that does it in this first set against Iga Swiatek. Really canโt even tell who is playi by better

Will be catching up on the rest of the tennis tomorrow morning. Today was a two pod day so pretty exhausted. If you havenโt already check out our Australian Open Round 3 and 4 review and Quaterfinal preview. Lucy Deuce joins me for this one.

Unreal! I just love watching Sabalenka play tennis. When she decides to dominate a match she just does it. Takes the second set 6-0 because she didnโt get it in the first set ๐ฎโ๐จ
Jovic will get there. She has time and is incredibly coachable as I have learnt today.
#AusOpen
Aryna Sabalenka is just in a different weight class. Wins the first set
Jovic made some great adjustments but it was not enough. I will say this is very much looking like Mama Bear versus baby bear.
#AusOpen
What started as a match looking like a 6-0 quicky has turned. Iva Jovic is making some great adjustments and taking on board the on court coaching so well.
#AusOpen
In our Day 9 recap I ask that age old question - when will another American man win a grand slam? And who will do it first? Learner Tien or Ben Shelton?

Australian Open Threads. The episode we get asked about the most during Grand Slam season. Joined once again by Ian from Forty-Love Tennis
We break down the biggest looks of the tournament and do the usual brand by brand breakdown.
Enjoy.
Wow guys we are so humbled by all the love for Off Season. S/O @servedpodcast.bsky.social ๐๐พ
We are almost at 5k subs on YouTube. If we hit that before the end of the Australian Open open maybe we make our review live ๐
New Ep of Off Season is out Feb 1st. Canโt wait.
This is the stuff I nerd out about. I have worn an Apple Watch since day 1, I wear an Oura ring and have worn the whoop before. If I was in Australia getting to the bottom of this would become my entire job.
26.01.2026 14:01 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0This Whoop issue seems to me to be a complete misunderstanding of how it works. Sinner in press says they are allow to where the vest under their shirt so how is wearing a whoop different ๐ค
Can someone ask the tournament, please and thank you.

Call her Jessica โstraight setsโ Pegula because this run to the quarterfinals has been easy breezy cover girl. She seems to be playing so within herself which is what you want at this point of the tournament.
#AusOpen
Jessica Pegula starting strong and taking the first set. First time I have watched her live this tournament and she is looking good ๐
Also Chanda Rubin on the call is so good. I always learn something.

Ok this deserves a deep dive

26.01.2026 00:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Agreed. Itโs the first time I have ever seen a tournament, either at the tour level or grand slam, ask for it to be removed. Looks like Alcaraz is wearing one for the first time, at least that I have noticed. But Sabalenka has been sponsored forever.
25.01.2026 23:42 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0So just went back and watched it all and I am pretty sure Alcaraz is wearing a WHOOP for all his matches at AO. They made him take it off yesterday and Sabalenka as well earlier on. What changed? Considering Sabalenka always wears hers as a whoop athlete. Whatโs the issue?
