Whether you're a casual news reader or a breaking news reporter at the NYTimes, I implore you--please, please, please--do not believe or report DHS/ICE/CBP's side of events uncritically. End the state's monopoly on legitimate storytelling. They are not the objective arbiter of what really happened.

This is the 84 yr old sister of a friend of mine.

She was attacked this weekend by federal agents in front of the ICE building in Portland.

They had marched from the park to the bldg and were just standing there when Trump's thugs rushed out and battered them.

Sprayed with chemicals and beaten.

This video of Chicagoans intervening to save a man from being abducted off the streets by ICE is making the rounds on Instagram.

Community action works.

I'm telling y'all, the greatest gift we can give this nation right now is self-control. Deny the regime a victory here. We must regulate and realize our power comes from staying calm and focused: refusing to let them manipulate our emotions and incite violence. Calm, focused, regulated. We got this.
